This is the jury message for Monday, March 30, 2015. This message contains information pertaining to two separate jury pools. Please pay close attached to this message in its entirety to prevent confusion over whether or not you are required to appear on Monday, March 30th.
The first jury pool is for case number 2004-CR-1246, the State of Kansas vs. Martin Miller. Jurors in the first jury pool received special jury questionnaires on or about March 10th, 2015. Most of the qualified jurors in the jury pool for the Martin Miller case have already been contacted by phone or by written correspondence about their service. If you are a member of the jury pool for the Martin Miller case, you are required to appear in the jury assembly room at the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center by no later than 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 30th.
The second jury pool is for general service for the rage of dates that started on Monday, March 23, 2015 and ends on Friday April 3, 2015. Jurors in the second jury pool received standard jury questionnaires on or about February 23rd, 2015, and are divided into groups numbered one through ten. If you are a member of the second jury pool, you do NOT need to appear for jury service on Monday, March 30, 2015, but you WILL need to call this number again on Tuesday, March 31st after 5:30 p.m. for possible trials on Wednesday, April 1st, 2015.
To recap, the Martin Miller jury trial starts on Monday, March 30th, 2015. If you are a member of the special pool of jurors for the Martin Miller case, you will need to report for jury duty at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 30th.
There are no other jury trials scheduled for Monday, March 30th, so if you are a member of the second jury pool, you do not need to appear on that day, but you will need to call this number again on Tuesday, March 31st, after 5:30 p.m. for possible trials on Wednesday, April 1st.
